Much as I hate to admit it, Berta and I are both a little leery of shopping on the internet. We've heard all the stories and warnings about identiy theft, viruses, spyware, adware and fly-by-night websites just the same as you have. That's why we've gone beyond the norm and implemented security features on our site for your protection and our peace of mind.
If you look in the upper left corner of our homepage you'll see this emblem:
What this means is McAfee security scans our site daily for vulnerabilities such as viruses, hackers, malware and a few other things. This emblem is only displayed if our site is determined to be secure and free from these potentially malicious threats. If you click on the icon it will tell you when we've been scanned, tested and deemed secure.
On the left side of our homepage about halfway down, you'll find another emblem from GeoTrust that looks like this:
This symbol means that we purchased an SSL certificate that insures all your information on checkout pages is encrypted before it is transmitted over the internet. This is the ultimate security that your personal information and credit card identity cannot be hijacked and used for malicious purposes. Again, you can click on this icon to see how this service works for you and to verify that it is active on our site.
